In with the In-colors

Imagined big

So I challenged myself to try to make a card using a wild color combination I haven’t tried before. Not sure how good of a risk taker I am when it comes to making projects. This one I used two colors from the new 2013-2015 In Colors (Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe) and one from the 2012-2014 In Colors (Primrose Petals.) It is probably the most layers I have used on a card as well. I figured to give it a try and see if I like it. What came out is pretty cool. I used my wheel to make the background. I talked about how to do that technique previously here. This card uses all the things I love, wheel stamps, butterflies, the big shot and pearls. I was able to make the layered look¬†with the top note die by cutting just below the usual perforated marks that the die cuts into the paper. I’m switching from the popular flag tails to rounded corners. I just like the look better. Add in some watercolor stamping on the primrose and I think this looks pretty neat. I may have to get more risky after all.
